Coparion

Coparion is a German co-investor founded in 2016 by the ERP Special Fund and KfW, managing €275M from Cologne. The model is unusual: Coparion only invests pari passu alongside private VCs, writing €0.5-8M per round and up to €15M total per company across Series A to C. The mandate is sector-agnostic, with portfolio companies spanning industrial 3D printing (3YOURMIND), construction intelligence (Building Radar), procurement (CNC24), EV charging (Wirelane), and biotech (Tubulis, Cardior). The matching-fund mechanism effectively doubles capital available to German start-ups.
