Carbon Direct Capital

Carbon Direct Capital is a New York-based climate fund founded in 2020, with leadership drawn from former Columbia University scientists. The thesis is singular: science-validated carbon capture, removal, and utilisation, evaluated for both climate impact and financial returns. Around 16 portfolio companies span direct air capture, industrial decarbonisation, carbon-based chemicals, and sustainable fuels. Investments include Solugen, Velocys, Graphyte, ION Clean Energy, LanzaTech, Heirloom Carbon, Twelve, and CarbonCure. Cheque sizes run $10-50M at Series A and B, supported by partners with climate science backgrounds.
