Cantos Ventures is a San Francisco fund founded in 2016 by Ian Rountree, backing pre-seed and seed companies transforming the physical world. Fund III closed at $50M in 2022, taking total AUM to around $120M across 68 companies with three unicorns. The mandate covers defence and aerospace, energy (nuclear microreactors, geothermal, carbon capture), synthetic biology, and advanced materials. Named positions include Astranis, Solugen, Radiant, Atom Computing, Twelve, Limelight Steel, and Earth AI.
