BDC Capital Deep Tech Fund

BDC Capital Deep Tech Fund is Canada's largest dedicated deep tech vehicle at C$200m, launched in 2021 by BDC Capital, the venture arm of Canada's federal development bank. Based in Montreal and led by Thomas Park, the fund targets 15-20 Canadian seed and Series A companies at roughly $4-5m per deal. Focus areas are quantum computing, electronics, photonics and foundational AI. The 12-year fund life and 2:1 follow-on reserve ratio reflect patient capital for long deep tech development cycles.
