Barclays Climate Ventures

Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital, formerly Barclays Climate Ventures, runs a £500m London-based mandate to back climate-tech startups from 2020 to 2027, increased from the original £175m commitment. Since 2020 it has mobilised £508m across 20-plus portfolio companies. Focus areas include property retrofit, long-duration energy storage and hydrogen technologies. Every £1 Barclays invests draws £2.18 from third parties. Portfolio companies have created 1,309 jobs, 664 of them in the UK.
