Applied Ventures is the corporate venture arm of Applied Materials, founded in 2006 and run from Santa Clara. It has deployed across 90+ companies in 19 countries, with up to $100M invested annually and a stage-agnostic mandate. The thesis sits across the materials-to-systems stack: semiconductors, advanced displays, AI and machine learning, energy-efficient computing, and Industry 4.0. Exits include Adesto, Enphase, and Voltaix. The fund leans on Applied Materials' depth in semiconductor equipment, materials engineering, and process integration.
